Paper Otter Workshop
December 2 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Create your own handmade papercut greetings and Christmas cards with Emma from ‘The Paper Otter’ with a workshop – just in time to create and send your seasonal best wishes to those nearest and dearest in your life!
Impress your friends and family by sending them a handmade papercut card this Christmas! Emma will teach you her papercutting technique using a craft knife and you will then have some time to practise your new skill. Next, Emma will demonstrate the steps involved in creating your own cards, and you will then have time to create your own cards, using her Christmas card designs or your own. This workshop is both mindful and playful, and you will find yourself completely absorbed in the process of paper cutting, but be warned, it can become addictive!
All equipment and materials are provided. It is recommended that participants have good eyesight for objects up close, or glasses that they can bring along to use. If they struggle to see up close they will struggle with this workshop. Good fine motor skills in their hands is also quite important. Previous experience with a craft knife is not essential as I will teach this. It is also not important that they “can draw”, as I have designs they can use, or can even sketch a design for them.

I have been papercutting since 2013 when I made some mini papercuts for my family for Christmas using scissors.
Since then I have taught myself and developed my style by practising whenever I could. Today I sell greetings cards and custom artwork in an Etsy shop, my website, in local craft markets and shops.
