SUMMARY:Acrylics for Beginners - Bold\, Fast & Loose!
DESCRIPTION:Bold\, fast and loose technique\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe will spend a fun-filled half-day immersed in the world of acrylics for beginners\, which will include impasto techniques. We will establish a base set of acrylic painting skills and then deconstruct and simplify objects and references\, enabling us to capture them in acrylics using thickly laid passages of paint\, either with a brush or a palette knife. \n\n\n\nBy the end of the morning\, we will have developed confidence in using acrylics and also applying paint thickly to the canvas\, incorporating some on-canvas mixing and blending\, without creating a muddy texture. We’ll get a bit messy\, have loads of fun\, kickstart a new painting habit (and technique)\, and enjoy cake from the café! What could be better? No previous experience is necessary; a no-excuse price with materials provided! \n\n\n\nThe morning will be filled with fast-paced learning exercises and mini-tutorials to entertain and help you make significant strides in your confidence and control in this interesting and freeing technique. \n\n\n\n\nImpasto is a technique used in painting\, where paint is laid on an area of the surface thickly\, usually thick enough that the brush or painting-knife strokes are visible. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to one of our many Cornish Craft Barn Stitch Groups. We run several regular groups that meet once a month.  If you’re interested in joining one\, please contact us or book in to attend if we have spaces available.   \n\n\n\nThis is an all-day session where you can work on quilting projects on machines or by hand with other quilters who are looking to share ideas and experience and can provide guidance for each other – plus lots of lovely chat\, cake and coffee!  It is not a ‘tutored’ session but a room filled with abundant expertise from which to seek assistance. We can offer short demonstrations or mini projects from time to time if this is something the group decides they want!  \n\n\n\nThe session runs from 10am – 4pm but feel free to attend as much of this as you can to fit in with your other commitments. Lunch can be bought from the cafe with a 10% discount.  Plenty of parking outside and we can give you a hand to get your machines upstairs to the training room if needed.  \n\n\n\nWe have several new Janome quilting sewing machines available to borrow for the day if you need one or find it easier than bringing one in from home. The cost is £4 per day. Please book ahead or let us know if you need one so we make sure we have enough available. We ask for payment quarterly in advance £15 per session\, so £45 which covers three sessions for you. New monthly themes\, always a variety of media from watercolour to acrylics to oils and everything in between used on a regualr basis to create variety and stimulate inspiration.  Sessions includes 10% café and shop discount on the workshop days. \n\n\n\n\nThese sessions are designed as an ongoing series to inspire and develop art skills in various media. You will engage in fun\, creative\, and practical weekly activities that utilise multiple media and unexpected materials. Your creativity will be unleashed! \n\n\n\nIf you thought you were not creative or ‘arty’\, unable to draw or produce pleasing artwork\, these sessions are specifically for you. You will learn to draw\, paint\, and develop creative ideas\, then visually bring them to life.
