SUMMARY:Children’s Book Workshop · Series 6 — New Year
DESCRIPTION:Book your place — £160 → \nDates in this series:Friday 15 January\, 9:00amFriday 29 January\, 9:00amFriday 12 February\, 9:00amFriday 26 February\, 9:00amFriday 5 March\, 9:00am \nFour Friday mornings across January and February to take your picture book from an idea to work you are proud to show — and the monthly meet-up on top\, included. Character\, story shape\, the page turn\, and the art that carries it. \nFridays 09:00–13:00 — 15 and 29 January\, 12 and 26 February — then the meet-up on 5 March\, at the Cornish Craft Barn. £160 for all five mornings. \nWhy a fortnight between. The work happens in the gap. A week is enough to start a page and not enough to finish one; two weeks is time to sit with it\, and the people who got the most out of the last run were the ones who had that. \n\n15 January — set the scene. Gear up\, get your project files together\, and build them with the rest of the group.\n29 January\, 12 and 26 February — develop your work in earnest\, a fortnight to draw between each.\n5 March — the monthly meet-up\, included as a bonus. You bring what you have made\, meet people who have done the Children’s Book Workshop before\, and show your new Children’s Book friends.\n\n\nEight seats\, beginners and improvers together.\nA short materials list before you start\, and a starter kit at cost if you would rather not buy your own yet.\nA one-page recap each session with the demonstration photos\, and the group’s own album.\n\nThe ladder: an Essentials half-day is the taster; a Series is where you get properly better at one thing; Studio mornings are the room to keep working in. \nBook your place →

SUMMARY:Slow Stitch Club – Tuesday 2nd March
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to our Slow Stitch Club\, meeting on the first Tuesday of every month at the Cornish Craft Barn. Everyone is welcome\, whatever your skill level! \n\n\n\nUnlike our machine-based stitch clubs\, this is a relaxing day of hand stitching: embroidery\, hand quilting\, English paper piecing\, mending\, or whatever you love to stitch. It is not a tutored session\, but a friendly room full of experience to share\, plus lots of lovely chat\, coffee and cake. \n\n\n\nWhat to stitch: we may offer a slow stitch project to join in with\, or you are welcome to bring along your own stitching and enjoy our space. \n\n\n\nThe session runs from 10am – 4pm\, but feel free to come for as much of it as suits you. Lunch can be bought in the cafe with a 10% discount\, and there is plenty of parking outside. \n\n\n\nWe ask for payment quarterly in advance: £17.50 per session\, so £52.50 covers three sessions. If you can’t make a session you can use the credit at any of our other monthly clubs\, or carry one session over within a 6 month period. If you’d like to try us out first\, or just come along occasionally\, a single session is £20.

SUMMARY:Wheal Rose Stitch Club – Tuesday 13th April
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to one of our many Cornish Craft Barn Stitch Groups. We run several regular groups that meet once a month.  If you’re interested in joining one\, everyone is welcome with any type of project and all levels! \n\n\n\nThis is an all-day session where you can work on quilting projects on machines or by hand with other quilters who are looking to share ideas and experience and can provide guidance for each other – plus lots of lovely chat\, cake and coffee!  It is not a ‘tutored’ session but a room filled with abundant expertise from which to seek assistance. We can offer short demonstrations or mini projects from time to time if this is something the group decides they want!  \n\n\n\nThe session runs from 10am – 4pm but feel free to attend as much of this as you can to fit in with your other commitments. Lunch can be bought from the cafe with a 10% discount.  Plenty of parking outside and we can give you a hand to get your machines upstairs to the training room if needed.  \n\n\n\nJanome sewing machines can be borrowed from our sewing studio for the day if you’d rather not bring your own. Please let us know in advance so we can make sure one is ready for you. \n\n\n\nWe ask for payment quarterly in advance £17.50 per session\, so £52.50 which covers three sessions for you. If you can’t make a session you can use the credit at any of our other monthly clubs\, or carry one session over in any 6 month period. If you’d like to test us out and attend one session before you commit; this is fine too and we charge £20 for this\, or just pay £20 to attend the occasional one off session without any longer commitment. \n\n\n\nTickets
