SUMMARY:Wheal Treasure Stitch Club - 3rd Thursday Monthly
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to one of our many Cornish Craft Barn Stitch Groups. We run several regular groups that meet once a month.  If you’re interested in joining one\, everyone is welcome with any type of project and all levels! \n\n\n\nThis is an all-day session where you can work on quilting projects on machines or by hand with other quilters who are looking to share ideas and experience and can provide guidance for each other – plus lots of lovely chat\, cake and coffee!  It is not a ‘tutored’ session but a room filled with abundant expertise from which to seek assistance. We can offer short demonstrations or mini projects from time to time if this is something the group decides they want!  \n\n\n\nThe session runs from 10am – 4pm but feel free to attend as much of this as you can to fit in with your other commitments. Lunch can be bought from the cafe with a 10% discount.  Plenty of parking outside and we can give you a hand to get your machines upstairs to the training room if needed.  \n\n\n\nWe have several new Janome quilting sewing machines available to borrow for the day if you need one or find it easier than bringing one in from home. Please book ahead or let us know if you need one so we make sure we have enough available.  \n\n\n\nWe ask for payment quarterly in advance £17.50 per session\, so £52.50 which covers three sessions for you. If you can’t make a session you can use a credit up on any of the other Wheal monthly groups we run\, or carry one session over in any 6 month period. If you’d like to test us out and attend one session before you commit; this is fine too and we charge £20 for this\, or just pay £20 to attend the occasional one off session without any longer commitment. \n\n\n\nTickets

SUMMARY:Wet Felted Seascape Picture
DESCRIPTION:What You’ll Learn\n\n\n\nCreate your very own unique seascape picture from wool \n\n\n\nThis workshop will give you an introduction to the exciting and colourful world of felting. Wet felting is a technique that uses soap and water to bind the wool fibres together. I will take you through the process of creating your very own felted seascape picture (9×7 inches approx.) inspired by the Cornish coast to take home. \n\n\n\nYou will learn how to lay out the wool fibres to create the base layer. After choosing the colours\, I will introduce you to different ways of using wool to create different effects. Other fibres such as sari silk threads can be added at this stage.  \n\n\n\nYou will then be taken through the felting process using water and soap.  \n\n\n\nFinally\, the piece is rolled until fully felted.  \n\n\n\nAll materials will be provided  \n\n\n\nOlive soap is used in the workshop\, but you may bring your own soap if required. Also please bring protective gloves if handling wool is an issue. \n\n\n\nYou will need to bring 2 towels (1 medium and 1 small) and a bag to take your work home as it will need drying at home.  \n\n\n\nWhat’s Included\n\n\n\n\nAll materials and tools\n\n\n\nExpert tuition throughout\n\n\n\nTea\, coffee & homemade cake\n\n\n\nYour finished piece to take home\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorkshop Details\n\n\n\n\nDate: Thursday 6 August 2026\n\n\n\nTime: 10am – 4pm\n\n\n\nSkill Level: Beginner\n\n\n\nPrice: £75 per person\n\n\n\nPlaces: 8 maximum\n\n\n\nTutor: Ceri Hawke – Felt & Away\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSuitable for beginners or someone who wants a re-fresher on how to felt.I studied Art and Design and then took a degree in Action Photography at Truro College. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a relaxed but full morning of tuition on the techniques and stages involved in creating a beautiful textured raggy quilt. Depending on how big you want your quilt – you may not finish your quilt in this session but will leave with a good start made on your quilt in this fun workshop that you can then easily carry on at home and keep making it as big as you choose.   \n\n\n\nThis makes an ideal lap quilt\, baby cot quilt\, picnic blanket. They are very versatile quilts and hardwearing and need to be used and not just admired! 1 charm pack will make a small quilt of 25″x29″\, 2 charm packs would be 37″x37″ which is standard baby size. \n\n\n\nWhat you’ll get: *Step-by-step tuition in raggy quilt techniques*Guidance suitable for beginners*A relaxed\, social sewing environment*Quilting techniques*Expert tuition throughout*Tea\, coffee & homemade cake \n\n\n\nWhat you need to bring: Depending on how big you want your quilt to be; and you can easily extend it after the workshop – as a minimum for the morning you will need:  \n\n\n\n*For the Top of Quilt – At least 1 Charm Pack of Quilting Cotton Fabric\, these are normally 40 or 42 x 5″ squares – I can help you source these if stuck\, don’t worry. *For the Back – 1m Backing plain Fabric of same quantity per pack of charm squares*1m of cotton flannel or batting/wadding – cotton\, bamboo\, recycled is fine. Not polyester. *Sewing machine – bring your own or you can borrow one *2 bobbins ready wound for your machine*Good quality cotton thread 1000m or 2 spools \, (not a cheap brand) in a neutral matching colour to your fabrics\, i often like pale taupe or pale grey\, Guterman or Aurifil are recommended – I normally avoid white unless your fabric is very white.  *Sharp scissors\, large and small\, and spring loaded snips/scissors if you have them*Rotary Cutter\, rulers and basic sewing kit \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n/

SUMMARY:Wheal Rose Stitch Club - 2nd Tuesday Monthly
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to one of our many Cornish Craft Barn Stitch Groups. We run several regular groups that meet once a month.  If you’re interested in joining one\, please contact us or book in to attend if we have spaces available.
