SUMMARY:Beginners Freemotion Embroidery and Applique Christmas Cards
DESCRIPTION:This creative workshop is a great way to learn the art of freemotion embroidery whilst producing some lovely little Christmas cards to take home. \n\n\n\nThe class is aimed at beginners but is also good for those who have had a go before and wish to have a quick refresh of the techniques\, with the added opportunity to create some really cute little cards. \n\n\n\nThe day is split into two parts: during the morning we will look at the basics of freemotion and applique through a number of practice exercises\, then in the afternoon we take those newly acquired skills and show how you can build on them in a really simple way to create some lovely finished products. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is taught by Caroline Michelle Morgan who is a Textile artist specialising in freemotion embroidery. \n\n\n\nBlank cards and envelopes will be supplied\, but you will need to bring the following materials and equipment with you; everything apart from the sewing machine feet can be purchased in the shop if needed: \n\n\n\n– Sewing Machine\, please bring your extra wide table for your machine if you have one (helpful but not essential)\, also don’t forget your foot pedal and cable.– Freemotion embroidery foot– A selection of different coloured felts for the practice exercises and for using as backing on the applique decorations– A small variety of fabric scraps to produce the raw edge applique artwork– Black thread– A selection of beads\, buttons and ribbons to add to your creations– Your usual sewing equipment\, scissors etc– Bondaweb \n\n\n\nYou can hire a Janome QDC M50 machine for £5 for the day from the Cornish Craft Barn which has an extra wide table and free motion embroidery foot included. DESCRIPTION:Get creative with our Fused Glass Workshop at the Cornish Craft Barn.A hands-on\, relaxed workshop where you’ll learn the basics of fused glass and make 3 of your own colourful unique designs. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nDuring this relaxed and hands-on session\, you’ll learn how to cut\, layer and design glass to create your own unique pieces. You will make at least three beautiful glass projects to take home and treasure or gift to someone special.   \n\n\n\nProjects will be taken to be fired and will be usually ready to collect about a week later.  \n\n\n\nAll materials and tools are provided and no previous experience is needed –  just come along\, have fun and discover the magic of fused glass! \n\n\n\nYour tutor is an experienced Adult Education tutor who has been teaching glasswork for nearly fourteen years and academic courses for over seventeen years.
