Stitch It Together is a 6-week beginner’s sewing course designed to guide you through the essentials of sewing\, one stitch at a time. Whether you’re looking to repair clothing\, create your own wardrobe\, or dive into the world of DIY projects\, this course will give you the confidence and skills to start sewing. \n\n\n\nBy the end of this hands-on course\, you’ll be equipped to tackle a variety of projects and sew with ease. Great British Sewing Bee here we come! \n\n\n\nDetails\n\n\n\nThe course starts on Monday April 20th and runs for 6 weeks. Starting at 10am and finishing at 1pm. Skips a week for May Bank Holiday and on the 18 May the time will be 1pm – 4pm \n\n\n\nCourse Overview\n\n\n\nStitch It Together is the perfect starting point for anyone who’s ever wanted to learn how to sew. Over six workshops\, you’ll get hands-on experience with a variety of essential techniques\, all taught in a supportive\, fun\, and beginner-friendly environment. \n\n\n\nWho This Course is For\n\n\n\nThis course is designed for absolute beginners with little to no sewing experience. If you’re looking to build confidence with sewing\, or just want to learn a new skill for fun or practicality\, this course is for you! \n\n\n\nBy the End of the Course\n\n\n\nYou’ll walk away with a solid understanding of basic sewing techniques and a completed project that showcases your new skills. Each workshop will include a new skill\, and a practical application of that to make something to go home with. We’ll be covering all the stitches on your machines\, maintenance\, patchwork basics\, applique basics\, fabric manipulation\, fabric choices\, equipment leaving you with the knowledge to continue with your new very addictive hobby! \n\n\n\n£120.00 Includes refreshments and 10% café discount on all cafe purchases on the day \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nKit List\n\n\n\nFabric: If you have some fabric already you wish to use please bring it with you. Approximately 8 fat quarters would be ideal. \n\n\n\nThread: 100% cotton thread in a neutral colour \n\n\n\nSewing Machine: If you have one you want to use please bring it\, or we have Janome machines you can borrow. \n\n\n\nBasic Sewing Kit: Scissors\, Needles\, Cotton thread\, Pencil and notebook. Don’t rush out and buy these! We have them to borrow or for sale in our shop.

DESCRIPTION:Welcome to one of our many Cornish Craft Barn Stitch Groups. We run several regular groups that meet once a month.  If you’re interested in joining one\, please contact us or book in to attend if we have spaces available.   \n\n\n\nThis is an all-day session where you can work on quilting projects on machines or by hand with other quilters who are looking to share ideas and experience and can provide guidance for each other – plus lots of lovely chat\, cake and coffee!  It is not a ‘tutored’ session but a room filled with abundant expertise from which to seek assistance. We can offer short demonstrations or mini projects from time to time if this is something the group decides they want!  \n\n\n\nThe session runs from 10am – 4pm but feel free to attend as much of this as you can to fit in with your other commitments. Lunch can be bought from the cafe with a 10% discount.  Plenty of parking outside and we can give you a hand to get your machines upstairs to the training room if needed.  \n\n\n\nWe have several new Janome quilting sewing machines available to borrow for the day if you need one or find it easier than bringing one in from home. Please book ahead or let us know if you need one so we make sure we have enough available. There is a small charge of £2 per day if you use a machine payable on the day. \n\n\n\nWe ask for payment quarterly in advance £15 per session\, so £45 which covers three sessions for you. If you can’t make a session you can use a credit up on any of the other Wheal monthly groups we run\, or carry one session over in any 6 month period.
