SUMMARY:Freemotion Embroidery Layered Pictures – Follow-on workshop
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a lovely day developing your freemotion embroidery and raw edge applique skills in this follow-on freemotion workshop. This class is aimed at those who have either completed the basic workshop or had a go at freemotion embroidery before.  \n\n\n\nIn this workshop you will have 4 cute designs to choose from with the scope to begin a second design that can be completed at home. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is taught by Caroline Michelle Morgan who is a Textile artist specialising infreemotion embroidery.  \n\n\n\nThroughout the day you will be taught the skills and techniques required to turn your chosen design into a layered picture with cute little 3D elements\, all framed nicely in a rustic mount with coordinating hanging loop. The backing felt and rigid frames are provided however you will need to bring the following materials and equipment with you: \n\n\n\nYou will need to bring the following materials and equipment\, everything apart from the sewing machine feet can be purchased in the shop if needed:  \n\n\n\n Sewing Machine\, please bring your extra wide table for your machine if you have one(helpful but not essential)\, also don’t forget your foot pedal and cable. Freemotion embroidery foot A variety of fabric scraps to produce the raw edge applique artwork Black sewing thread Your usual sewing equipment\, scissors etc Bondaweb For one design you will need approximately 2 metres of fabric tape/ribbon to wrap theframe and 1 metre of coordinating ribbon to make the hanging loop. \n\n\n\nYou can hire a Janome QDC M50 machine for £5 for the day from the Cornish Craft Barn which has an extra wide table and free motion embroidery foot included. Please add the ticket for this below.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorkshop Details\n\n\n\n\nDate: Monday 19th October 2026\n\n\n\nTime: 10am – 4pm\n\n\n\nSkill Level: Intermediate\n\n\n\nPrice: £60 per person\n\n\n\nPlaces: 10 maximum\n\n\n\nTutor: Caroline Michelle\n\n\n\nLunch can be purchased in the CCB cafe and you’ll receive a 10% discount\n\n\n\nFree Parking right outside\n\n\n\nAir conditioned room!

It’s a relaxed\, weekly get-together for anyone who loves—or wants to love—all things stitching and textile arts. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease pay on arrival and just send us an email to book a space and let us know you’ll be coming : create@cornishcraftbarn.com\n\n\n\nThe vibe is warm\, informal\, and friendly — perfect for chatting\, sharing tips\, or just enjoying creative company\n\n\n\nThere’s no pressure: you bring your project (or ideas) and work at your own pace\n\n\n\nIt’s open to all levels: absolute beginner\, intermediate\, or seasoned stitcher\n\n\n\nCake\, we always have cake and lots of coffee There’s something so soothing about settling in with needle and thread\, a cuppa nearby\, and time to just make. If you’ve ever been curious to try something new (embroidery\, quilting\, mending\, whatever)\, this might be your kind of space. We have huge tables to lay out projects on or put quilts together on\, and sewing machines and overlockers you can use. The view’s not too bad either !!\n\n\n\nYou get to see what others are up to — it’s inspiring and encouraging\n\n\n\nWe also have air conditioning so the room has the right climate whatever the weather.
