Art Club – March Oil Essentials

Throughout March, we will explore the use of oils as an absolute beginner and come to grips with techniques and rules specific to oils. We will also explore how acquired directly transferrable art skills can be put to good use with oils; these areas will include:
- Canvas preparation
- Exploring how oil brushes behave
- Creation of quick, simple, but crucial tonal value studies
- Working from dark to light
- How to simplify your chosen scene and under-paint the preparation
- Application of approach from loose still life work to landscapes
