Make a Raggy Quilt – A Relaxed Sewing Workshop!
Join us for a relaxed but full morning of tuition on the techniques and stages involved in creating a beautiful textured raggy quilt. Depending on how big you want your quilt – you may not finish your quilt in this session but will leave with a good start made on your quilt in this fun workshop that you can then easily carry on at home and keep making it as big as you choose.
This makes an ideal lap quilt, baby cot quilt, picnic blanket. They are very versatile quilts and hardwearing and need to be used and not just admired! 1 charm pack will make a small quilt of 25″x29″, 2 charm packs would be 37″x37″ which is standard baby size.

What you need to bring: Depending on how big you want your quilt to be; and you can easily extend it after the workshop as a minimum for the morning we need:
*For the Top of Quilt – At least 1 Charm Pack of Quilting Cotton Fabric, these are normally 40 or 42 x 5″ squares – I can help you source these if stuck, don’t worry.
*For the Back – 1m Backing plain Fabric of same quantity per pack of charm squares
*1m of cotton flannel or batting/wadding – cotton, bamboo, recycled is fine. Not polyester.
*Sewing machine – bring your own or you can borrow one
*2 bobbins ready wound for your machine
*Good quality cotton thread 1000m or 2 spools , (not a cheap one) in a neutral matching colour to your fabrics, i often like pale taupe or pale grey, I normally avoid white.
*Sharp scissors, large and small, and spring loaded snips/scissors if you have them
*Rotary Cutter, rulers and basic sewing kit
