How to use your sewing machine
February 12, 2025 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Let’s get sewing….one day workshop to give you confidence and unleash your creativity
Do you have a machine gathering dust? Lost under the stairs?
Want to sew but don’t know where to start? Put off by the thought of trying to use your machine?
Then this workshop is for you!!
We’ll have a fun and relaxed day exploring the functions and features of sewing machines and learn what they can do and start to learn how to make and create gifts and items using fabric and cotton.
Learn to use your sewing machine – bring along any make or model of sewing machine in good working order and your manual. Or borrow one of our machines if you’d prefer!
By the end of the workshop you should feel confident setting up and using your machine. As well as threading, you will learn how to sew seams, neaten edges and sew hems. We’ll also cover how to maintain and look after your machine.
You will make and complete at least one simple product during the day. We’ll have a play around with the different functions on all the machines to give you confidence.
A message from Rachel:
Who is this class for?
This class is for beginners and definitely if you have never used a sewing machine at all before or if you just want a refresher on how to get going with your machine.
By the end of the day, you should leave feeling confident and happy and treat your sewing machine as your new best friend!
We’ll also provide plenty of coffee and cake! All attendees also receive 10% discount on any cafe purchases on the day from the Cornish Craft Barn.
