Oils for Beginners – Landscapes

A new format, 10 am till 3 pm, is a short-day workshop focusing on oil painting skills for beginners, progressing to a landscape in the afternoon session. In this workshop, we focus on core oil painting skills and then put them to use on a landscape. Best methods to approach a landscape in oils, from preparing the ground to blocking out and working fat over lean to bring our reference images to life. Method will be covered, and some key tips to make progress fast, but excitingly, it will still be your style that shines through and makes your pieces unique. You will be busy with practical exercises from the start and are sure to have an enjoyable day, becoming more confident with oils and transferable landscape painting skills applicable to other media.
