Portraiture – A Fortnightly Life Drawing Group

Here’s what you can expect from our Portraiture Group Sessions :
Diverse Models: We have a diverse roster of models which provide experience and opportunity for you to draw and paint in each session. During these portraiture sessions, we typically warm up with some quick and varied positional head poses. Our professional artist session host, Theo Cresswell, will then provide some portraiture advice and techniques to put into practice during the session should you wish to; otherwise, feel free to simply do your own thing.
Open to All Skill Levels: Our classes are open to artists of all skill levels, from beginners looking to start their artistic journey to advanced artists seeking to refine their skills. We are fortunate to have the guidance and support of professional artist Theo Cresswell in each session as well as learning from each other’s artwork peer-to-peer style. Complete beginners are welcome to take part in this class and will be given plenty of support to get the best out of the session.
Refreshments: The Barn café provides food and drink for each mid-session social interval which includes tea, coffee and a cheese board with wine as part of the class cost!
Dedicated WhatsApp Group: We have a CCB Life Drawing WhatsApp group for sharing resources and life drawing social chat to complement the sessions and learn from each other. This is in addition to the CCB Academy where you will be provided a login to access resources* the CCB has created to help you get the most out of Life Drawing!
Materials. Yours & Ours: We supply everything you need to start life drawing but ask that you bring something to draw on. We can provide paper and sketchbooks for purchase and will have some paper to hand if you forget your pad. If you have any favourite drawing tools or materials, please use them and bring them with you.
Multiple Session Discount: Attending multiple sessions will allow you to experiment with different materials and see others’ artwork to get inspired, make new friends, and have it become a welcome part of your social calendar. Purchase a block of four sessions at a discounted per-session cost of £12 instead of £15 for £48. These four sessions can be used non-consecutively all we ask is that you book in advance on the dates you can attend and use your four-session credits.
Portraiture & Life Drawing: Portraiture sessions run fortnightly with life drawing sessions taking place fortnightly in the gaps in between. You can mix and match the use of your discounted multi-session credits in either classes.
