Macramé Family Fun – Gonk Workshop with Hearts and Pearls
December 21 @ 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
A fun, relaxed family morning of festive makes using macramé yarn, wool and lots of glue! Projects cater for all ages, so bring the whole family. It needn’t be Christmassy either – our gonks are for everyone.
In this special decoration workshop, Lucy from Hearts and Pearls will guide you through a few festive projects inspired by the ancient art of macramé. There will be a choice of projects, including:

- The popular gonk tree hanging decoration
- Beady snowman friends for younger makers
- Gift tags with macramé decoration
- Tree hangings, including festive bows and berries
This relaxed and friendly workshop is perfect for complete beginners as well as those looking for their next textile art project. The workshop starts at 10am, but you’re welcome to leave at any time. Some projects are quick and others involve more intricate knotting – projects will be chosen on the day depending on group size and abilities.

About the tutor
Lucy from Hearts and Pearls is a self-taught macramé artist based in Falmouth. Grown from a hobby, her business specialises in propagating rare trailing semi-succulent plants, including the popular String of Hearts and String of Pearls, and through this she first explored making decorative plant hangers from macramé yarn. Having experimented with various projects over the years, she now runs macramé workshops in the local area and designs tutorials for others to learn the basics of this historic art form, some of which are available in the Craft Barn gift shop.
