Crochet for Beginners – Taster Session: Make a Granny Square

December 2 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Hook, yarn, go! Ever watched someone crochet and thought I want to do that? This is your moment. In just two hours Emma will take you from “which end do I hold?” to proudly waving your very own granny square – the little square behind a million blankets, cushions and bags.

No experience needed and no pressure – just good company, a cuppa, plenty of help and a small, friendly group. You’ll leave with a brand new skill (and quite possibly a new obsession).

Caught the crochet bug? Keep going with our Learn to Crochet – 4-Week Beginners Course on Wednesday afternoons from 6 January, where you’ll learn to read patterns and make your first finished project.

About your tutor

Your tutor Emma has been knitting for 56 years and crocheting for 20 – she was taught by her Nan. She grew up in Cornwall, is a member of Bodmin’s Crafty Needles knit and natter group, has taught sessions at the Bodmin library and holds a PTLLS teaching qualification for adult learning. Emma goes at the pace of the group, so whether you fly or need a bit more time, you’ll get plenty of individual help.

This workshop is run by Emma, an independent tutor. Cornish Craft Barn hosts the workshop and takes bookings and payments on Emma’s behalf.
